How to choose a good and suitable BMS ?
Date: 2022-11-23 17:55:24Downloads: 381
A good bms needs high-quality components, reasonable PCB wiring and peripheral circuit design,
Same port or difference port ? How to choose?
If it's just an ordinary battery pack, I suggest you still use the difference port. Why?
1. The price is cheaper because BMS manufacturer can use less Charge MOS, The cost of MOS is main cost of BMS
2. More importantly, there is no charge MOS when discharging from P -, You know the MOS raise high temperature, So the temperature will be lower than same port BMS.
3. Circuit reliability, (designed by the same engineer)
I suggest using the same port only in the following cases:
1. There are mutual charges but they have to be used in parallel...
2. Charge and discharge at the same time.
Precautions for BMS installation
No matter which manufacturer's BMS, You only need to connect B - (battery), P - (discharge cathode), C - (charge cathode) and single wire,
The sequence of BMS wiring should be:
1. Be clear about the sequence of several B - P - C - and flat wires, especially where the first one is connected...
2. Weld the B - P - C wires in advance, and do not weld them when they need to be connected. The position is not easy to weld
3. The flat wire is connected as expected at the time of series parallel connection
4. Confirm that the cable arrangement is as expected at 100% (confirm whether the voltage and sequence are OK under the multimeter)
5. Insert the flat cable into the protection plate, measure the voltage of P+(battery positive pole) and B - P+, P - P+and C - to see if they are consistent, and they should be the same under normal conditions
6. Glue and reinforce the row plug to avoid looseness, and fix the protective plate (the protective plate and the battery should not be directly attached to the battery, or the heat transmission should be balanced).
First connect the B-cable of the protection board to the total negative pole of the battery pack
